Rachel Hulan is an interior designer in Santa Ana, California who specializes in non-toxic, natural, and recycled materials for flooring, wall covering, and other applications. Through working on projects as diverse as television shows, science centers, private residences and master planned communities, Rachel has developed a broad base of knowledge from which to develop her designs. An active participant in the local green design community, Rachel is a member of the US Green Building Council, and the Green Build 2007 Host Committee. She is deeply committed to promoting awareness of sustainable design throughout Orange County and the surrounding communities. Interior Design Show (IDS 10) Opening Night Party 21 January, 2010 Toronto, Canada Thomas Junek (Editor-in-Chief/Writer) Mark Palmer (Videographer) DSM was there as the IDS celebrated 10 years. The theme for 2010 was “Ultimate” where mainstream designers, up-and-comers and some OCAD student talent were all thrown into the mix. Hosted in Toronto’s Metro Convention Centre, over 300 exhibitors showcased their stylish goods and 4 teams of top local Toronto Designers were commissioned to create 4 “ultra” living spaces (including local favourite Ministry of the Interior and the launch of an ambitious hotel/condo collaboration between INK and Munge Leung). Entertainment, Food and Wine were also on offer however pretty much besides the point as this was primarily a chance to preview the latest in local and international design while rubbing shoulders with Toronto “Designerati”.
